Bliss Finder Sports and Entertainment, LLC. is a training and consulting company founded by Michael Tofte Jr. Michael Tofte Jr. is an educational leader and small business owner that has won multiple awards in both the education and entertainment industries. He combined his skills and talents to make education and to make education and corporate trainings fun and exciting through the lens of sports and entertainment. The company specializes in making complex topics that are generally inaccessible exciting to learn. Whether it be teaching predictive analytics through analysis of NFL stats, doing mathemagic tricks to inspire a love of math and science or using lyrical talents to get people excited and motivated at learning a new skill, Bliss Finder has something for people of all ages to benefit and get excited about.
Michael Tofte Jr. grew up in the 1980’s when baseball was the most popular sport and kids collected baseball cards, where the players’ major performance statistics were on the back of cards. Kids would read the baseball cards and engage in debates over which player is better based on the stats on the back. They also did not have calculators, so they had to learn how to do all the math on paper and in their brains. His childhood instilled in him the ability to apply mathematics to real world situations.
While an undergraduate, a public school Algebra teacher hurt her back and was out of work. Michael took up the mantle as a long term substitute teacher. This led to parents requesting tutoring from him. About two years later, he developed an SAT prep program where Michael taught SAT prep math, SAT prep verbal (now reading), and essay writing. The program led to 300 point score increases per student.
With writing, Michael was a gifted poet starting at age 11 (eventually winning awards in his 20s), but was not a skilled formal writer. Eventually, he realized that essays and formal writing followed a mathematical formula. Once he discovered the formula, he taught it to others and that led to them getting perfect scores on the essay portion of SAT writing.
Michael would eventually do a graduate program to teach physics and graduate with a Master’s degree and a 3.97 GPA. Afterwards, he realized that everything in the material world can be broken down into the laws of physics - the laws of physics can be broken down into mathematical equations - and these mathematical equations can be broken down into the 1’s and 0’s, we use for computer code.
As founder of Bliss Finder Sports and Entertainment LLC. (a company which does a number of things that appear to be disconnected; however they are connected through the theme of mathematics). The connecting theme is that they all use the laws of physics and applied mathematics in a way that is relatable to people and excites people.
NFL Analytics uses trend data to predict future outcomes of football games.
Raising test scores (even for reading and writing) requires formulaic strategies that are mathematically measurable.
Project Based Learning makes math and science meaningful and entertaining.
Mathemagic makes math fun and can inspire people to learn more.
Poetry and lyric writing follows mathematical patterns such as stylometry and our brain’s liking and disliking of those can be broken down into physical wave patterns and a measurable mathematical pattern.
Martial arts techniques and tricks that work can be broken down into physical angles and measurement of acceleration and velocity.
